Lifting and moving heavy loads is one of the most dangerous activities on construction and industrial worksites. According to OSHA, crane and rigging accidents result in hundreds of serious injuries and dozens of fatalities each year, often caused by improper rigging, poor communication, or unqualified personnel.

The Crane Institute of America Basic Rigging and Signal Person Course provides workers and supervisors with the essential skills to safely rig loads and communicate effectively during lifting operations. This training ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and promotes safe crane operations on job sites.

Participants will learn critical topics including load calculations, selecting proper rigging hardware, inspecting rigging equipment, signaling techniques, and safe lifting practices. Hands-on exercises teach proper communication between crane operators and signal persons to prevent accidents.
